The Caturra variety was first discovered in, and named of the town of Caturra, Brazil. This variety is a direct variation to the Bourbon coffee plant, and thrives in the Colombian region. Similar to Bourbon, it has broad waxy leaves with wavy edges, though it's more shrub-like with a bushier appearance. It also requires much more care and maintenance in order to thrive and harvest.
The Caturra coffee bean makes a vibrant brew of coffee, with a zesty essence.
These organically grown coffee beans are produced without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. The beans are selected for roasting at their peak ripeness, and the ripe cherry fruit is pulped, fermented and sun-dried with expert skill before it is packaged and shipped.
The growers use 7.5 pounds of the ripe fruit to make one pound of the finished coffee beans, and the concentrated richness of this product makes it a coffee drinkers' dream.
KRKN Coffee is not in the crowded coffee business, but we are always working to find great products for our customers. We want to share what we think is a superior Arabica Bourbon coffee bean. Enjoy!
